People's driving skills have deteriorated in the past few years

So In the past few years, it's obvious the a lot of people are paying more attention to their phones than their driving. This is evidenced but their need for a big fat unnecessary buffer in from of them. To some degree, a bit of space in front when, say, driving in a place you've never been and are not sure about lane choice is acceptable, but lately I keep seeing more anymore people who want to leave a huge gap in front of them, like a half dozen cr lengths, often in traffic that is not moving al that fast. Basically, they are moving roadblocks. But the one that really is just insanely annoying is people leaving full car lengths ofr more in front of them at stop lights. Even ones in congested areas where the queue behind them backs up into the the previous intersection. Yes they know about it because they just waited for it but they are so zoned out and don't care.
